I was only three when my father died

My name is Rizkina. I live in Aceh, Indonesia. I was only 3 years old when my father passed away and I became an orphan. Our life was very difficult after my father's death. You can be sure that my mother had the biggest challenge. She tried so hard to have a good life.

I started primary school at the age of 6 and completed it successfully. When my mother saw that I was successful and willing, she wanted to send me to a better school, but we had no financial means for it, we were desperate. In 2010, I learned that there is a special orphanage for girls far from home. This is how I met IHH.

When I started staying in the orphanage, I was just going to secondary school. I was aware of the fact that I had to work hard to have a good future. After completing secondary school, we were accepted to one of Aceh's best high schools with my friend Wasmiani. High school was a little difficult for me at first, but I worked hard to overcome them and continued to be successful in my classes. The sisters in the orphanage where I stayed had a big share in this. They have always supported me.

After graduating from high school, I earned the Economics department at a public university in Aceh. I was very happy about that. I tried to support my little sisters and sisters who stayed in the orphanage during my university years and to ease their work. At the end of 4 years, I graduated from university in 2020 with a very good average. Now I could do the job I wanted and have better opportunities. However, I decided to be a sister to orphans and started to work in IHH's orphanage. My life has been spent working hard and accomplishing something. Now I will work to be an example to orphans and sponsor dozens of orphans in the future. Many thanks to our brothers and sisters in Turkey and IHH as supported us. Throughout my life, I will continue to be worthy of them and be with orphans.
